Program Overview

To earn this Level II Badge, you must demonstrate your ability to describe each of the core competencies of interprofessional healthcare and apply these competencies when working in interprofessional healthcare scenarios. To showcase your ability, you can expect to complete online learning modules alongside project-based and experiential opportunities in conjunction with faculty members. 

You should pursue this micro-credential if:

  • You are an undergraduate or graduate student at Quinnipiac

  • You are pursuing a degree in healthcare

  • You are interested in graduating with distinction and showcasing your commitment to interprofessional healthcare education

Program Dates and Details

This program must be completed in-person and is offered at no cost to current Quinnipiac students. The time to earn the micro-credential depends on the speed with which you complete the modules and hands-on activities.

Learning Outcomes

All learners who meet the criteria will earn a Level II Badge. 60 total hours must be completed.

  1. Complete four online learning modules and/or 15 hours from an approved IPE course. Online learning modules total about 20 hours of dedicated learning. Approved courses include HSC 205, HSC 208, HSC 280, HSC 281, HSC 282 and HSC 301.

  2. Complete 20-30 hours of experiential learning activities in interprofessional healthcare, including a series of seminars with interprofessional teams of students. A self-reflection of learning is required for each IPE event attended.

  3. Provide 10-20 hours of leadership through interprofessional healthcare community-based service, leadership activities in interprofessional healthcare or co-facilitation of interprofessional seminars.

Assessment of completion of micro-credential requirements is completed by a committee of faculty experts evaluating learners artifacts aligned with a rubric.

These badges signify that learners are able to perform or produce an observable product that will be useful in professional environments. Subject matter experts will evaluate the artifacts produced by learners for quality.

All students who complete a micro-credential associated with academic credit or co-curricular experiences will receive a designation on their transcript and a digital badge through Credly. Micro-credential earners are encouraged to share their achievements on resumes, social media platforms and e-portfolios.

Learners can begin their pursuit of micro-credentials at any level; individuals who are new to the field are best suited for Participation or Level I badges, whereas experienced professionals might be more interested in advanced Level III Badges or Level IV Certifications.
