The Interprofessional Relationship-Centered Leadership micro-credential is awarded to learners who demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and abilities necessary to impact the lives of team members, patients, organizations and communities.

Program Overview

This Level II Badge recognizes that you have demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities related to emotional intelligence in class and in practice. To earn this badge, you must showcase your ability to build meaningful relationships with interprofessional peers and care team members; act as an effective member and leader of a team in class and in health professions settings; and apply interpersonal relationship skills with demonstrable impact.

You should pursue this micro-credential if:

  • You are an undergraduate or graduate student at Quinnipiac

  • You want to improve your leadership skills and emotional intelligence

  • You want to demonstrate your ability to meet IPEC Competencies

Program Dates and Details

This program must be completed in-person and takes place over the course of a few weeks as part of your undergraduate or graduate program of study. You must attend all three sessions to earn the micro-credential.

Learning Outcomes

All learners who meet the criteria will earn a Level II Badge

  1. Complete a reflection essay as part of a learning portfolio. Throughout this process, you will establish goals and then re-assesses the completion of those goals for quality improvement. The self-assessment focuses on developing your best professional self, working in teams, building interpersonal and interprofessional relationships, developing a sense of belonging in community and impacting health systems.

  2. Complete the Harvard Everest Simulation, a leadership/teaming simulation exercise. 

  3. Complete and present a design-thinking group project in an interprofessional team focused on a healthcare system issue with feedback from your learner cohort and a panel of healthcare professionals and faculty.

Assessment of completion of requirements includes faculty evaluation as well as feedback from the student cohort and a panel of healthcare professionals using a topical rubric.

Level II

These badges signify that learners are able to perform or produce an observable product that will be useful in professional environments. Subject matter experts will evaluate the artifacts produced by learners for quality.

Micro-credentials are flexible and versatile, designed and delivered in an accelerated format by our experienced faculty and industry thought leaders who understand critical shortages and skills gaps.

All students who complete a micro-credential associated with academic credit or co-curricular experiences will receive a designation on their transcript and a digital badge through Credly. Micro-credential earners are encouraged to share their achievements on resumes, social media platforms and e-portfolios.

Learners can begin their pursuit of micro-credentials at any level; individuals who are new to the field are best suited for Participation or Level I badges, whereas experienced professionals might be more interested in advanced Level III Badges or Level IV Certifications.
