Program Overview

The Strategic Healthcare Management open enrollment executive education program blends theory and practice to improve your ability to supervise talent and leverage resources. You will also enjoy considerable networking opportunities to connect with and learn from fellow strategic healthcare leaders from across the state, the region and the country. 

You should attend this program if:

  • You are a mid- to high-level manager or director

  • You have been in a leadership role for 3-5 years

  • You are in a position to leverage resources to implement quality improvement initiatives

Key Topics and Learning Outcomes

You will leave the session with a stronger understanding of how to:

  • Apply financial management fundamentals to make fiscally sound decisions.

  • Evaluate and apply healthcare policies and regulations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. 

  • Implement quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care while minimizing risks. ​

  • Apply leadership fundamentals to effectively recruit, manage, maintain and grow diverse teams in a complex healthcare environment. ​

  • Navigate ethical dilemmas aligned with ethical principles and in compliance with legal standards. ​

  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to grow meaningful, productive relationships that enhance community and organizational health.​

You may be eligible to earn continuing education units (CEs) in various healthcare professions and transfer learning from this program towards the completion of a business degree at Quinnipiac University.

Program Dates and Details

This program is offered multiple times per year, though you are only expected to attend one session consisting of three days of in-person instruction. You will identify your desired cohort dates when you register to attend the program.

Level IV

The highest level of micro-credentials we offer, Level IV badges are recognized by employers as a means of identifying learners who are qualified and capable of performing particular skills or sharing specialized knowledge within professional environments.

Sample Schedule

The program kicks off with a virtual one-hour program welcome session several weeks prior to the first workshop. The 3-day in-person program, held on Quinnipiac's North Haven Campus, begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. with breakfast, lunch and snack breaks each day. Networking opportunities are integrated throughout the program, culminating in a reception at the end of the third day.

The program concludes with a virtual finale, during which you will share progress on your action project several weeks after the last in-person workshop.

What is a micro-credential?

By earning a micro-credential, learners across a wide array of industries, verticals and professional fields are able to showcase the acquisition of specialized knowledge that offers unique value in the workplace. Micro-credentials are flexible and versatile, designed and delivered in an accelerated format by our experienced faculty and industry thought leaders who understand critical shortages and skills gaps.

All students who complete a micro-credential associated with academic credit or co-curricular experiences will receive a designation on their transcript and a digital badge through Credly. Micro-credential earners are encouraged to share their achievements on resumes, social media platforms and e-portfolios.

Learners can begin their pursuit of micro-credentials at any level; individuals who are new to the field are best suited for Participation or Level I badges, whereas experienced professionals might be more interested in advanced Level III Badges or Level IV Certifications.
